Rishi Rich (born Rishpal Singh Rekhi) is a British Asian music producer born in Southall, UK and based in London, UK. He is internationally known for his bhangra tracks as well as Hindi remixes. He has also remixed various mainstream artists such as Madonna, Britney Spears, Mis-Teeq, Craig David and Aqua’s Lene Nystrøm. In the past, he has produced many remix albums, for example “Love 2 Love”. Recently, he has produced two solo albums, including his most recent album The Project.
In his new adventure, he launced H-Dhami – yaar apney Dhami ji da munda. Kamal da gaunda-it means sing not gunda. Peo te gya lagda.
Rishi richs family migrated from Pakistan. It means he can work as a kadi-link- between Pakistani and Punjabi singers. It will help to unite both Punjabis, and muslims might stop spreading leaflets against Sikhs. But it also means he might not know everything about our real Punjab, but how many kids of real Punjabi people knows about their culture. I met lots of brit kids, some knows about their culture and values and some don’t. But this guy is amazing. Along with Jaggy D, Aman hayer and Sukshinder shinda, they are examples of our good kids-grown up now. We are proud of you all.
“My brit friends call jarai to rajai” also their punjabi is funny. But they are our future.
Therefore we can’t discriminate him. I am trying not to be judgemental. I tried to listen to all of his songs before I could say anything. I know this website is not bbc or some great site, but I do get thousands of people every month. Also singers and music directors plays a major role towards their culture. Why our Punjabi music is hit in bollywood, because of our great music directors, singers and writers and poets.
I loved his “Simply Rich” album. Its not simple, its great, its rich of flavour. We need you, our culture needs you. I want to see you with full blown Punjabi music in future.
I will write more about you latter, still trying to know you more.
Questions you might ask your fans.
Am I a good music director?
Yes, fantastic, bombastic.
Am I a threat to Punjabi culture?
No way, but we expect more, something real real punjabi -jattka-as you did for H-Dhami-kamal karta
Do I need a plastic surgery?
Not yet.
Any suggestions?
I could not find any picture of your on google with a big smile or laugh. Do you laugh? You look very serious in your pictures, just like Aman hayer, I think you should both go together for a laughing show and take camera man with you. just kidding-but laughing is good for health.
