sir, millions of punjabi abroad are just waiting for the change in punjab . we aret fed up by the present govts.punjab is losing its glory in all kinds of fields. we want our punjab to dominate everywhere .we dont want punjab to safe heaven for the drug lords,gangs of land grabbers, travel agents etc.

Amrit ji, Mr Ramoowalias website is under construction, very soon it will be online at http://www.lokbhalaiparty.co.in we need people like you to improve our punjab. its everyones responsibility to act in the best interest of our people. Most of the politicians use drugs nad money to get votes. I know couple of people who died with liver failure after excessive drinking during election times. Its a very big and complex problem. Hopefully we will be able to clean our Punjab one day. Thanks for your message.

it is realy a hopeful thing to have a person like Sh.Balwant Singh Ramoowalia to help the needed persons. ohna ne apne punjabi veeran vaste bahut hard work kita a te kar v rahe ne. Every one know that he is a honest and caring person. he love to help the needed persons and always speak what is true. it make him diffrent from others. so thax a lot Ramoowalia ji for helping and caring us.

hey dude..i must agree with most of what you have written,but the problem with the muslim community is that, although not all are bad.There is just a small numbers of people who are doing these stupid acts.yet still all the muslims i have seen either in my school,college,university or even in birmingham town centre; they have no respect for sikhs.yes a small minority is converting sikhs but having said that the majority of muslims do not like sikhs. There are many new shops of muslims on soho road but how many shops are there or even opening in alum rock that are owned by sikhs.

I hope they don’t mess with this movie like sunny deols ” jo bolley so nihal” normally all bollywood directors try to make fun of sikhs. most of the directors are from Punjab, but they have got no sense, i think they are all bastards whoever make fun of our sikh community. i wish i would kill them all these gadhars.

The story is based on a lesser known Jackie Chan film called “Mr. Canton & Lady Rose” (a.k.a Miracles). It focuses on how a villager thru strange coincidences becomes a reluctant underworld don and then uses the opportunity to try and change the goons into good people.
An interesting plot sprinkled with your typical Desi Masala of Akshay’s comedy + Kiron Kher’s emotion + Pritam’s music + Firangi Action + that special Punjabi Tadka, brings the movie pretty close to it’s pre-release hype (but doesn’t surpass it).
When it comes to performances, Kiron Kher performs her fav mother/old lady in distress act to the “T”, Sudhanshu Pandey, Manoj Pahwa, Om Puri etc give good support as Akshay’s side-kicks. Neha Dhupia and Katrina Kaif are shown to be NRIs hence their pronunciations are excused, they both have been given minimal dialogs…which helps. Sonu Sood, who till date has done intense roles, doesn’t get to “talk much” but entertains by becoming the butt of all jokes & thus shows that he can carry comedy pretty well. Jaaved Jaffrey stands out of the crowd, shows awesome comic timing, and also gets a small dance number in the end to show his real talent.
What can be I say about the “KING of the SCREEN” – Akshay Kumar, as of today their is no actor who could have carried off this role as good as Akshay does. He has been used really well, his goofy smile, his crazy eye movements & facial expressions, his trademark dialog delivery style…anything and everything he does on-screen turns out hilarious…
The songs were already a hit, the real test, for the director, was how they look on the screen. As expected Jee Karda & Bas Ek King are energetic, Teri ore doesn’t loose your attention, except for Tali Hua all songs fit in the screenplay. Special mention must be made about Bhootni Ke, if you found the lyrics hysterical, the picturisation does full justice to them. With comedy champions Guggi & Khayali to support Akshay this one Rockks on-screen.
Watch this one with a big gang of friends, as a full-to Bollywood masala flick – you will not be disappointed.

Just came back from preview screening of this movie. Its a Hilarious Comedy, we were literally in fits due to laughter. Akshay Kumar steals the show, nothing unexpected. But from the time he makes an entry, you know this is going to be one roller coaster ride. And he is supported very well by rest of the cast, however Katrina Kaif is there doing what she does the best, look good. She has nothing much to do in the movie. But I feel that this could have been a much better movie, the title of the movie had lot more potential, however I was not expecting much from Anees Bazmee. But yes, if you love Akshay Kumar, and do not might couple of hours of side splitting comedy, then go for it..

These all girls asked me about Mr Ramoowalia’s number, I did personally speak to Mr Ramoowalia about couple of Girls, he reassured me, that he will help every one, I also forward everything to his secatory Gurpal. Also i spoke to him. No one ever told me what happened to their case. I also wrote to couple to our these daughters and Sisters who asked me about help, no one ever truned back, I presume they all got the help. Main problem is, people don’t give any feedback.I am planning to speak to Mr Badal as well if he can help. In one email Mr Ramoowalias PA wrote,
“is it possible to solved your problem only on net
say you parents or any other, who lived in india and can represent behalf of you”
it mean they can’t get help if no one in Punjab can represent them.such a shame.
I wish i could help them all.

I never thought that we muslims are forcing other people to adopt islam. I never heard about any sikh converting to muslim. I think its all just few people on the internet who are spoiling their own religion, I am not sure if they are true muslims. We should do something to make our relationship stronger with all other religions specially with sikhs.End of the day we are living in the same tiny world and we should all live happily to make our society safe.

I think that your rant on SGPC is unjustified – not that I know any of them personally.
They do run schools and colleges – such as SGTB Khalsa College(s) in Delhi.
Secondly, in Gurudwaras in Delhi, such as Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, there are dispensaries being run by the SGPC where free medicines are being provided.
Several Sikh doctors and other health professionals in Delhi do offer their services free of cost at such Gurudwaras/dispensaries. In Rajouri Garden, the dispensary located in Gurudwara premises also provides physiotherapy (physical therapy) services, which to my knowledge is subsidised by the Management Committee of the Gurudwara (not all professionals offer free services and the Gurudwara management pays them).
If you have been unable to involve anybody, then perhaps the reason might have more to do with the nature and culture of the country/city that you are living in. In my personal experience NRIs generally tend to be misers (and my Muslim friends have pointed this out in context of NRIs returning from Gulf).

i dont think shes talented at all, all she does is talk rubbish over music, not like a real singer who has trained and put effort into their art. even rappers are talented but not her. shes classless, a disgrace to her name ‘Kaur’ and to her culture. I feel so sorry and sad that this tramp is a so called “role-model” for the younger desi girls, they are falling into a trap. there is no pride in taking drugs, drinking excessively, going with every man and flashing your body for all to see. She is the complete opposite of a real ‘Kaur’ princess. PS: all that rubbish about her dad being caught up in 1984, its just for her public persona, its a lie, she has contradicted herself many times in her interviews regarding this and she is a complete bitch for using such a tragic event as a means to get public sympathy.

Thanks for writing on this website. I studied in a scholl run by SGPC, no one know them better then me. Can a simple man afford these schools? they are so expensive. I went to stay overnight in delhi gurudwars sahib-but i was not given any place to stay one night. why people fight for gurudwara elections all over the world? because there is a lot of money to eat.
if i ask SGPC to do something these muslims, who are spreading leaflets against sikhs-what will they do? what will you do? probably nothing.
i might do, and i will do it soon without money or blue turbans.
bibi jagir kaur went ot kala pani to give money to people who suffered in sonami, but she give more money to people she knew and those who looked after her, it was public money not bibis hard work or her from her pay.

Let me tell you my story, please do not judge me for what I have done. I now by taking this action I have dishonest m parent.
I don’t know if you have ever had a story like mine. My mother died 14 years ago and father 4 years ago, by coincident, I discovered my sister in law from England and her father from India was selling part of my parents land in India.
Everyone in my family was in up-raw about and came to me to something about it, they also informed me about the new law India where girls have equal rights to their parents inheritance, they also told me that the only way I could stop them was in if I asked my brother for my share of my dad’ estate.
I also found out that my brother had forged my signiture while transferring all the estate to his name, So four year ago I decide to ask for my share of the land, it went to court in Nawanshahar as the land had been already transferred to his name. At the end of 2007 I discovered that the solicitor I had appointed in India to fight my case had be bribed by my sister in law, he had allowed her to transfer the deeds to the land in to her sons name. I almost lost the case because the solicitor had not attended any of the court hearing. I appointed a new solicitor in 2008, he finds the judge at the hearing very reluctant to hear my case; it might be because I am exercising my legal rights as a daughter and this they don’t like. I am still fighting for my rights, I feel there is no one listening to me. I want to protect what is my parents, my grand parents and what they worked for.
Is there anyone else, who is in the same predicament as me, can they share their experience, and how they dealt with with their problem with me. Is their anything you can do, may be put me in touch with the right people who can help me.
The worst thing is that the family who wanted me to take this action has all disowned me and I am on my own.

I watched this movie with my family. its fantastic, very funny and a proper laughter show for 130 minutes.
Akshay always performed very well in his movies. thats why people love him and his acting.he has got one another player with him this time to increase his strenth and he is dara singhs son vindu,very funny character and did very well to make you laugh.
Aksay whatever he says become a laughter capsule, take it and be rest assured that you will feel much better for many days or weeks.How can people laugh continousely for hours, only laughter gas (nitrous gas) or akshay can do it.
very family orientated movie.few kiss scenes but does look bad because they increase the laugh, the way it was shown-no lust or bulgarity.
it is a must watch movie for every body.i saw some non indians probably 15 who came to watch his ‘Kambakkht Ishq’.they were chinese and white brit.
evryone loves akshay in uk, all kind of people from muslims to sikhs and hindu. he is an example of national or international integrity.
i would recomend this movie to every body who like akshay kumar.
also some hollywood super stars performed very well. i read this movies review on new york newspaper website, they mentioned aksey is ready to enter in to hollywood.
i can reassure it won’t disappoint you.just go and enjoy with your whole family.

Is this is a SABOTAGE? Yes it is! How much money is SRK paying to keep Akshay Kumar down? I along with my family and friends have watched this movie yesterday…and to the FACT there were people whistling for Akshay and Kareena. Girls were all UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU for Akshay! and the movie was damn good entertainer. If the critics are having some problem with Akshay they should be send Pink Chaddis. Now isnt Media acting like a RAM SENE towards Akshay? HAHAHAAHA….and the RSS this time is ShahRukh Khan. It shows SRK is a loser! AKSHAY is NO1 the real REVIEW FRO READERS IS 4 STAR . SUCH REVIEWS and SABOTAGES DONE by SRK is causing HEAVY LOSSES to the INDUSTRY! I also wrote reviews for this movie on sify.com he/she didn’t publish my reviews because it was in favour of Akshay kumar. I also saw some dirty naked pictures of some models on his website. I think he/she doesn’t mind those porn pictures on his website but do mind Akshay Kumars publicity. Such a crap man or woman. Many people mentioned that Shahrukh khan is paying to all cheap bloggers to write against Akshay kumar. He is scared of him. I can see from his face he is very egotic person just like most of the Indian politicians.

Asalaamualaikum, whoever you are writing this hate site against Dr Zakir Naik have you really watched or attended any of his talks? What do you disagree with? If anything he is uniting makind. Your very close minded if you decide to write hate messages when you do not properly understand religion enough to be able to say anything reasonable about it. Think before you speak would be my advice to you. Dr Zakir Naik is not like Hitler, open your mind a little and do some reseach. Wasalaam. Peace be with you.

I am agree this site, I have seen many debates of Dr. Zakir Naik he is like Tota naik and I have seena book which he called “KURAN A SHARIF BY TOTA NAIK”he running his one channel so called Peace tv I havn’t seen a single peace debate on that channel

Mr. Tota Naik (tota=parrot )always find the problem in other religion, by giving the false examples about Islam I want to ask with this Tota Naik in Shikhism and even in Hinduism many book try to co-relate Itself with Islam so that the peoples can leave togather can understand we the child of one god the only difference is how we pray….but I havn’t seen a single book which says Islam is also co-relate with other religion this mr. Tota naik born and brought up in India and saying against Indian culture and Indian religion this is so called “JIS THALI MAIN KHAO USE MAIN CHED KARO” when Pakistaan was formed only for muslim them where was this Tota Naik parents why didnt he take them there……. my dear brother or sister. i am not jealous of this naik.also i know more about religion than this so called dr. i think u should tell these things to dr naik to understand religion 1st before he comment on any one elses religion.i watched his show many times.otherwise i wouldn’t be wasting my time on this peace of s..

Sidhu played a role of rich punjabi NRI in this movie. He tried to put in to the brain of punjabi villagers that NRI’s should do something for their villagers and village as he was doing in a movie.He helped the young boys to improve the village by opening the internet etc. but it would be nice if sidhu doing the same work in his real life as well. he is much richer than any punjabi NRI abroad.before you tell other people you should spend time as well on your people.
also we NRI’s the so called rich punjabi, are not actually that rich.now a days punabi people in villages are much more whealthy than NRI’s. also they have started snatching our lands to buy their young kids scorpio jeeps.Sidhu or H mann should also mention these things in his movies.

I watched this movie with family. Its a proper family fun. Akshay is a great star. Better than any khan or bachan. He proved that he is a real Punjabi Puttar. I am proud of him. Very good story and very funny. Singhs look great in posh suits and in king style. 40% movie is in my maa boli punjabi. Whole hall was full, first time i had to wait 3 days to get ticket. All shows were fully booked in advance.
Its a must watch movie, just like harbaghan manns punjabi movies.
Only one complaint; In last 20% of the movie turban style was not like sikh turban, it was a mixture of something punjab police and afgani lok.
Over all fantastic/ bombastic 5star movie.

I dont agree with the answer of 1st question and who ever written that they are lazy and kamchory(Did he ever studied in india? if yes then i am sure he will certainly got failed or getting passing marks only).
To get seat in engineering college 33% is not enough(ha ha f**K**g a big joke 33%)
Try Nanded or Bidar Engineering colleges their cut off list percentage was 85% last year 2009.
Colleges in U.K are big jokes,they are like grocery shops openend in not bigger then an average house in India or like 2-3 shops together = college.
These Types of places in india are called tuition centres for childrens aged 8yrs- 15yrs old,Even Govt schools are bigger then them.
Atleast Students coming here in England on proper Visa’s not like other came to england illigaly or came here as a domestic helpers.
check history of people those who came to england in early 50’s or before that most of them was unskilled without any education or qualifications they worked in england as domestic helper,factory workers only now they have some status because of some of the people successfull in giving their children proper education,Parents dont have enough time to look after their childrens what they doing(they getting addicted to drugs,alcohol etc).
Atleast Indian Childrens(Students) First think about their parents.
Gurudwara Bhai ji’s forgot their time when they have to do kirtan if asked by visa officers.
They serve langar with shoes on Why ???
Hemkunt & manikaran sahib is in himalyas still they serve langar without shoes.
Asian People here in England Think they are modern and they can also do modernise sikhi as well.

I respect your views. my purpose of saying kamchoor was to mention those people who don’t do anything in india and force their parents to get money.As I mentioned I know everybody, british and indians, i know the theory of 33% and exact number of seats in punjab. me and my dad helped many villagers to become engineer in punjab who were good for nothing but all they got civil eng or the lower than civil.all you need just pass marks. I have studied in india from village to DAV college chandigarh.Sorry if i hurt your feeling. but veer ji what about reservation for jatts, pendu cota,fouji cota.border area cota,sikhi cota. your views are 100% right about british people.they have forgotten their own days and now they are advising others.lets see how much they help these punjabi students.

33% are enough to get admission in GNE college ludhiana if you have reservation. I got selected in sikhi kota. I started wearing turban and got admission. Sikh Channel probably enjoy donations from the Gurdwara in Ealing which MR Kohli runs and dont care about his victims etc. RUBBING SALT INTO THE WOUNDS OF SMALL BUSINESSES WHICH SUFFERED DUE TO HIS GREED !!

I have seen almost all da videos of Dr. Zakir naik and there are many places where i totally disagree with him
He calls our prophet muhammad(s.a.w.s) dead man and asking us not to seek help from him in anywyz as well as any wali as he says that u cant seek help from dead person
Wastagfirullah if he calls our nabi e akram muhammad(s.a.w.s) or any waliallah a dead person
it is totally a disrespect of our nabi
And if he has read bukhari sharif well then in that there are many incidents are there were shahabi has asked help from our rasul even after their visaal from dis duniya
So it is nothing wrong in asking help from them it is true that only allah can give you and u shud only ask from allah subahanvala but it is nothing wrong in asking help from our rasulllah
Dis is the only incident im mentioning here there are many more and there are many places where u can totally disagree with zakir naik as muslim not personally but from ur hadish sharif and qurane pak
So who ever follows zakir naik blindly just by listening his speeches they should 1st read our hadish sharif and qurane pak well and then decide what to follow and what to not
And zakir naik is telling us to not to go to dargah sharif and not to ask help from wali he doesnt knoe that we are not goin there to worship aur to do ibadat of them we are going to seek help from them we are asking them to pray for us and pray from whom?????

There are 30 to 100 british people who are homeless in each city in UK, maximum nubers are in london. I never saw any sikh living on roads in my life. These people are served by churches and other charitable societies. one I know is Jesus army. I tried to work with these guys last year, very nice people, they asked me am I a christian, if not why I want to join them. My answer was, doesn’t matter If I am not from their religion, I would like to do something for man kind, its my duty to look after other people who can’t look after themselves. I hope british sikhs will help these students, otherwise we won’t be able to show our faces to anyone in india.

The park where Nitin Garg was killed is nice and quiet in the day time. Having grown up in Melbourne, I would say that no person should walk through a park at night. There are lots of junkies floating around Melbourne’s west. Best to get a car when travelling at night. I hate public transport, often white trash drunks/junkies at night. My advice is if you’re going to be out at night, get yourself a car. Don’t rely on the police to do anything because they seem to be more interested in catching speeding motorists.

Sandeep ji thanks a lot for ur nice words. I wish I had more people in my team. I have spoken to some solicitors and people from other professions such as policemen in Punjab and some local people in UK, didn’t get much support. I am going to speak to DGP of Punjab soon. I am trying my best. Another problem is people don’t give any feedback about what happened to their case, how they got the help-just to help other people, it would be a good idea if other people write their views here to help each other.
Sandeep ji,we are proud of our new young generation, who are doing something amazing and still worrying about their culture,being brought up in other countries. For example you are in army in USA-serving your country and still so close to your culture.

I live in Australia Genocide committed by public officials is common and because it is acceptable by every State and Federal politician it keeps happening.
I’m still trying to get justice for the genocides of 5 people, Alan Downie, Bernie Flarody, Pat Flarody and Marie Langan who helped me expose Police officer Detective Robert Wells who supplied the drugs which were given to 17 yo Alison Newstead which caused her death in October 1993, since then 4 people have been murdered who exposed Robert Wells.
I have had 2 attempts at my life by Attorney General department employee and Police when I tried to bring these matters to court last year.
The Australia goverment covers up murder by murdering the witnesses and destroying the evidence when public officials are involved.
The Klu Klux Clan cartoon is a good cartoon to suit every Australian goverment official not just Victorian police.
The best way to get justice for the Indian Student is to expose the 1000’s of genocides committed by police and covered up by public officials including Kevin Rudd as the attempt on my life came after reporting child murder to Rudd just like 3 of my other witnesses were murdered after reporting the crimes to John Howard, Bob Debus, Nick cowdery and the Ombudsman.
Our public authorities are only fronts for organized crime similar to what Germany went through with Hitler in the 30’s and 40’s.
Look at our countries history it has ignored the Convention on Genocide since 1948 by committing genodice against 100,000’s indiginous people since then and these crimes still continue.
Please help the people of Australia as well as the Indian people in Australia by exposing this corrupt goverment which participates in an accepts genocide

Sonia did well in researching and confronting Gen. Brar in the slaughter of pilgrims as well as meeting wifes/mothers of murdered husbands/sons.
I am not a Khalistani but I’m a supporter of sikh human rights in a hindu dominated society.
Hardly anyone has been charged with those atrocities in Delhi! I wonder why; all involved were hindu politicians.
Obviously this touches a nerve with the hindu, hindu-punjabis communities, who
still wish to dominate and crush the sikh identity. No surrender!! Never in a million years, until the last ounce of sikh blood is drained in the Ganges.

No doubt Sonia deol did very well, but she didn;t mention anything about the people who were responsible for 1984 Anti sikh riots. They are still moving freely and many are ministers in central government. Currently our main issue is to punish those people, rather than talking about Bhideranwala or Khalistan.

You are silent on the excesses committed by our own- the Sikh terrorists- who almost caused a partition and civil war situation in Punjab with their selective targetting of hindus, getting them down from buses to gun them down ets ( all mentioned in the first 20 mins in the film).
To quote another website- the temple was not desecrated by the Army moving in, it was desecrated by Bhindranwale and his gang who moved in with rockets and heavy armaments.

Those responsible for anti-sikh riots will not get prosecuted; it’s been so long and a lot of time has elasped. Sikhs do not have sufficient political power to forsee this. The prime minister could not manage this! It’s not going to happen. All of us could help the sikh widows and those who have suffered, by meeting them and leaving a donation, sympathy and care.

There are a number of reasons why sympathy towards these people is limited, here are some of them (in no particular order) for your consideration:
The majority of these people are not here to study but are using a legal loophole in order to earn money. They have little educational background and education was never on their mind when coming here.
They did not leave India because they are destitute. If they have RS 700,000 (£12,000) to pay an agent then they could have invested in education or some kind of business back home. It is common knowledge that they force their parents to sell off land in order to fund their trip over here instead of putting in the work to make something of themselves back home.
They have arrived during a time of worldwide economic upheaval where even educated people with excellent employment histories are finding themselves out of work. As result they find themselves without employment and become a burden on the community as a whole. so now a community made up of hardworking people who are themselves struggling are expected to carry the burden of people who came here under false pretences to earn cash and live what they think will be a glamourous lifestyle. why should the community carry the burden of these people?
Since they are clearly not students and have no intention of studying essentially they become illegal immigrants under a new name (they are breaking the law by not studying and working more than the allowed time per week, thereby contravening the terms of their visa). These are not the boys that left Punjab in the 80s for fear of their lives, these are spoiled people who arent willing to work back home and dream of easy money who come here and find it is a very different harsh reality.
They are known for causing trouble. They congregate at Gurudwaras and take advantage of the fact that the Guru Ghar is open to all. They have been known to “eye up” and harrass girls and try to strike up affairs at the Gurdwara and some have had to be expelled as result of their behaviour. They also hang around at shopping malls etc doing the same.
They treat the Guru Ghar and Sevadars with no respect, to the extent that people have become tired of them and their bad attitudes and this is causing further friction. Then they use the argument that the Guru Ghar is for everybody to try to stir up emotion. At a Gurdwara close to me one of these people came in and asked for Parshada. The Bibi serving langar said “Wait, take Sabji as well.” He replied “no, we’ve made meat at home we just needed roti”. So now its not even a Parshada to him anymore its just Roti. How do people who show no respect like this expect to be treated sympathetically?
Due to their attitude and behaviour they are not accepted into mainstream society and so end up banding together. with no real prospects for settling down, drink, drugs and prostitution are rife amongst them. Ask anyone that employs them, they will tell you that this is true. And no, it is not the fault of the community, these people have made their choices and decided not to go back no matter what.
They behave with great arrogance, further reflective of the fact that they are here with the intention of doing “Aish”, not to work hard and become productive members of society.
As for the question of why cant they stay at the Gurdwara? No Guru Ghar has unlimited resources, and they were never intended to be hostels for illegal immigrants. The Gurdwara is there for the Saadh Sangat and for society as a whole, why should these people be given preference? We all know there is corruption within committees but that doesnt change the point I’ve made.
As a community we have a great deal of challenges that are more deserving of immediate attention. Domestic violence, mental health issues, lack of education about Religion, drug abuse amongst the youth, healthcare, care of the elderly, the list is endless. Why should these people with their self inflicted pain be at the top of that list? why should money, effort and appeals be directed towards them and other problems be ignored? they have got themselves media coverage by being a nuisance to the extent that the police has started approaching community leaders about them, thats why they have coverage, not because they deserve it more.
They have the arrogance to come on TV and say “you came over here just like we did”. Wrong. Economic migrants from the 60s were welcomed and given passports because there was a labour shortage in this country. These were people with a strong work ethic who came here on invitation. Many were educated in fields such as engineering or at least had some kind of work skills, albeit manual work. Many of those who came since have come legitimately and worked hard. Even the illegal immigrants of the 80s-90s came here at a time when the building industry was booming and there was work to be had. They too were skilled labour. The vast majority of these so called students have no skills and no education. There is no comparison.
They are arrogant enough to call up talk shows about this problem and say that people should marry their daughters to them. And then what? they still have no skills and no education, and will be a burden on the families stupid enough to consider marrying their daughters to such a character. If he cant support himself how will he support a wife? not at all, the girls parents will become responsible for supporting them both and why should they?
people come on television and will argue that this accounts for 10-15% of these so called students giving the rest a bad name. I would say, having met many of these characters, that they are the overwhelming majority with genuine cases being few and far between.
There is all this emotive language being used trying to envoke feelings of guilt saying that these are our fellow Sikhs it is our duty to help them. To these people “fellow Sikhs” etc are just words. We are very quick to counter attack and ask “are the uncles on the Sikh Channels real Sikhs? are their children real Sikhs?”.. if that is the case then lets agree that nobody is a real Sikh and leave religion out of it altogether. So now tell me why does the community owe you support?
They are not vulnerable destitute “Bhalle Maanas”. These are very shrewd people who know how to take advantage. They have found that the streets here are not paved with gold, the intelligent thing to do would be to cut their losses and go back home. But no, they see an angle to exploit the situation and attack “soft” targets such as Gurdware as described above.
I would put it to you that these are the reasons why people are not sympathetic. If they wanted to go home, and if a charity were to be organised where a ticket would be bought for them and given to them at Heathrow airport (not one penny put in their hands, just the ticket) and they would get on the plane, then i beleive the community would want to help, which is the sentiment I have heard echoed by many people in the community.
I know some people will be saying “so what, British Sikhs do all of the above, they too harrass women, they too act with arrogance, they too do X, Y and Z”.. But that is a pointless argument since it is not British Sikhs who are on TV doing appeals asking for the community to raise cash and sort out their problems.
In conclusion I would like to make a prediction. with the economic downturn and developing economies such as India and China etc gaining momentum, I predict the time will come that people will be packing up and moving back because that is where the work, opportunities and quality of life will be. When that day comes employers back there will be choosy for the best candidates and once again those who are hard working will come out on top. Then characters like these so called students who are complaining now that we dont let them sit on our heads will once again be complaining that these NRIs have come over and taken the best jobs etc. My point is people like them complain very well, exploit very well, unfortunately they dont do much else. If they learned to study very well, work very well and appreciate all they had back home very well, we wouldnt be having this discussion.

But most Sikhs living abroad are not told of the terrifying phase from 1978-1984, when murdering gangs of Sikh separatists were on the rampage in Punjab, often targetting hindus, in some instances ordering them off buses and gunning them down. Many were under the patronage of Bhindranwale. The Sikhs, particularly those living abroad, are ignorant or are in denial of these events. The most ridiculous statements I have heard is that those Sikh terrorists were actually govt agents.
I lived in Delhi till 1993 and some of my closest friends were Sikhs and hindus from Punjab so I can claim a fairly close hand knowledge of events on the ground. I was also a doctor who treated numerous Sikh victims during the riots, as well as some Sikh terrorists later, who were some of the most dangerous and brainwashed individuals I ever had the misfortune to meet

I agree with your views .Whatever was happened in 1984 was very bad .but the problem was created some terrorists who nwere killing innocent Hindus from the busses.on top they kill prime minister of the country and playing dhol and bhangra,distibuting sweets and this was shown again and again by media .I think this was the reason that trigered riots.these few brainwased people are responsible for this.

Ssa Veerji, hats off to you by showing some sympathy to our Sikh siblings from India. Even if the majority of the Sikh students from India are not genuine students we as a sangat should be there to support them as we share the same forefathers.I am a British born Sikh and get very upset when I see British Sikh take the fun out of these students by calling then freshies/fresh off the boat etc

Whereas about the issue the writer thinks of Dr.Zakir saying. I have read that how interstingly the writer of this post has made the enviournment so spicy that all the people came and without understanding that whether he said right or wrong started criticising here…if you people think that Dr.Zakir is not respecting your religion then are you doing so? debates doesn’t change the world. actions do! i am sorry if i misunderstood you. i am not against any religion, i respect all religions probably more than mine. if we all live together we can help each other and can live happy life. but if we start finding bad things in other religions to prove that our own religion is better than others, there will be a war soon. i love pakistanis, i have too many pakistani friends, i love them more than anything else. My only anger or problem is this zakir naik who said lots of bad things against my religion, and everybody was laughing at my religion. how would you feel if its me saying bad things about your religion. I don’t think zakir is capable of running peace tv in credit crunch. there must be lots of people who are supporting him. it means lots of people like him because he say bad things about other religions to make you feel better.

I know debates doesn’t change world. But no one is going to change his/her religion. So whatver we think is right we stand on it. I didn’t ever mean to hurt you, your religion or Indians anyway. I too have some friends from India, Hindus and Muslims. That doesn’t matter for me and I think for you or anyone else as well. Whereas about Zakir Naik he is a Speaker and used to speak, this is his duty…i know sometimes it look wrong what he says, but its also our duty to clarify somethings rather to quickly react. I do not mean against your religion, but we people need to have a look. Because our religion always teach us to find about ur religion. But if somehow he hurt you by the religion, I aplogize, becase he one time also Spoke against Islam….and thats a long story. Thinks never solve to invoke people for fight but together them to find the solution for that. I respect your feelings and love for religion.

i listened to lots of kirtan, still i am an idot.
my dad worked hard but died at 52, he was very innocent, helped millions, always lecturing people to study hard and change the world.
but before i die i want to make sure, that my kids only worship Shri Guru Granth Sahib. I want to make sure that people don’t waste their hard earned money on these baba jis cars or deras, instead they should help the poor. i am doing it for my kids. yes i made fake pictures for fake baba ji. i want to live with respect, i don’t live on other peoples kamai, i don’t snatch anyones land. i help everybody. i am an educated sikh i can’t forgive these pakandhi babey just because guru ji has written in gurbani. i am not SGPC, with blind eyes, watching and spoiling my culture and religion. i don’t lie and i can’t tolerate any body hurting any body.
you don’t want to tell your kids to worship these baba jis. you don’t want to tell them to live on someones else money. or to snatch NRIs property and buy scorpio jeeps.we have to do something, to change the world we shoulden’t be living like jokes, which sucks blood of other people.
